Melissa Blain is a Central Illinois based singer, dancer, actress and musician with her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Bradley University. A classically trained mezzo-soprano, Melissa is a strong musical theatre belter with a wide range of styles from jazz to pop/contemporary. She also has over 10 years of training in ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop. Melissa is proficient in the piano and music sight reading. She has performed throughout the Central Illinois area in musical theatre, choral groups and as a soloist for groups like the Peoria Municipal Band.
While she enjoys being on the stage, Melissa is just as active behind the scenes. She has choreographed and music directed for her high school Alma mater’s musical productions, taught dance classes at several local studios, as well as operated the sound for various productions at Peoria Players Theatre and Corn Stock Theatre. She is currently the Administrative Assistant at the Peoria Ballet as well as the Soprano Soloist and Section Leader at the Peoria Westminster Presbyterian Church.
